Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The patent paralegal will also support intellectual property (IP) attorneys and team members on project and ad hoc requests. A summary of the primary responsibilities for this role is as follow: Manage the patent docket and ensure data accuracy Generate reports to support IP attorneys and team members Analyze patent and patent examiner data Perform patent content reviews and screening Ensure the timely filing of all U.S. and foreign patent applications Ensure U.S. and foreign annuity payments are made on time Track invoicing and help resolve invoicing problems Maintain patent prosecution procedures Ensure outside counsel adherence to bank processes and procedures Prepare annual patent budget and track outside counsel spend Generate reports to support line of business partners Provide paralegal support for IP projects Perform patent and patent litigation research using Westlaw and other research tools Assist with reviewing bank contracts Assist with preparing non-disclosure agreements Conduct intellectual property due diligence Enterprise Description: Supports attorneys in executing legal transactions and is responsible for securing, preparing, drafting, and processing legal documents. This includes research, and the review and interpretation of legal documents for validity, content, accuracy, and compliance with procedures. Associate must have knowledge of legal documentation and procedures for examining, preparing, and processing legal documents. Generally requires more direct attorney supervision. Requires paralegal certification or college degree with relevant experience Required Skills: Patent docketing experience Strong Communication skills (verbal and written) Strong organizational skills with ability to handle multiple projects Experience with MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Word 1 year experience in patent prosecution 1 year as a paralegal Undergraduate degree (or equivalent work experience) Desired Skills: Paralegal certificate Public and Private PAIR expertise Westlaw research capabilities Lexis research capabilities.
