Job Responsibilities and Requirements: 1. Performs daily reconciliation of data between the general ledger and financial reporting databases to assure data completeness and integrity. Effectively diagnoses issues on discrepancies of data between the two systems and resolves the problems. 2. Reviews financial data collected from multiple departments (i.e. Accounting, HR, Legal, etc.) for accuracy and uses data to prepare various analyses (budget v budget, actual v actual, projections) to support the department's reporting responsibilities to Senior Management and the Board of Directors. 3. Coordinates with the IT department to maintain the performance of financial reporting databases planning applications and investigates and resolves data integrity issues. 4. Maintains financial reporting database dimension hierarchies in accordance with current reporting requirements. 5. Obtains understanding of various reporting needs and assists users to develop appropriate financial reporting reports, including but not limited to the development of standardized reporting templates and ad hoc informational reporting needs. 6. Maintains the financial reporting tool end-users training guide and trains new users as needed. 7. Develops recommendations for improving the reporting capabilities of the department, including but not limited to report formatting, content and methods of distribution. 8. Compiles/maintains various internal monthly financial reporting packages. 9. Uploads and reconciles the fiscal year budget into the general ledger and financial reporting databases. Coordinates with the planning department and the various business units to facilitate this process. Educational/Experience Level Master's degree in accounting, finance or business administration and a minimum of three years progressively responsible professional experience in financial reporting system support, or equivalent. CPA and knowledge of Visual Basic or other macro programming languages preferred. Communication Skills Requires the ability to communicate, persuade and/or influence internal and/or external customers at a high level such as senior management on matters of a technical and/or complex nature. Requires strong written and verbal communication skills. Numeric Skills Requires the ability to perform to perform algebraic, trigonometric and geometric operations and/or moderately complex statistical and/or accounting methods. Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office, Oracle, Hyperion Essbase and Hyperion Planning and SAP. Work Conditions Works in an office environment.
