Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The construction manager oversees the construction of cells site structures to support new cellular services. He or she will work hand in hand with the site acquisition manager and makes sure that the work is running efficiently. Prior to starting a job, the construction manager creates a plan/SOW. The construction manager often works directly with customer, so it is important to be able to interact well with customers. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary to work well with staff and with clients. The ability to lead a large team is important. The manager will oversee the work of third-party contractors. It is important to make sure that they are doing quality work and that they are following safety guidelines. There will be time constraints for the project, so the manager must constantly check to see if work is on track. A budget will be given to the construction manager that needs to be dispersed and tracked accordingly. Purchasing duties will be given to the construction manager, and it is important to choose materials that are affordable but of quality. The construction manager will manage the site development through the start of installation & commissioning of the base station. This position requires previous experience within the field. Supports Sprint's supplier selection process for awarding site construction work Works closely with construction managers from local construction suppliers to ensure field teams are on site and delivering with expected quality Supports A&E and site acquisition team with site walks and validation of CD's and post completion site quality acceptance Reviews and approves change orders, site close-out packages, and works closely with general contractors to close outstanding items including permits Reports to the local Market Lead Project Manager.
