Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The Facilities & IT Assistant is responsible for the day to day activities, coordination and support of various hardware, software, computer and audio visual related equipment and services for the Washington, D.C. office. This role also works closely with the Facilities team and provides support of day to day office services functions as needed. Responsibilities/Duties Under direct supervision, provide delivery and support of requested AV, hardware, conference and facilities related services Set up audio and video conference calls, single and multi-point, utilizing H323, ISDN networks; directly dialed for multi-bridge vendors Operate and troubleshoot all functions of multimedia equipped conference rooms Diagnose routine hardware and AV problems accurately; distinguish between software, hardware and/or network issues; identify and escalate more complex issues to senior department personnel or New York IT, as necessary Perform routine IT and AV maintenance, including replacing parts, hard drives, system boards, fans, lamps Maintain ticket tracking system; create initial ticket, update progress and resolution Follow-up with end users to ensure problems have been satisfactorily resolved Educate end users on software and support issues by communicating clear, concise, step-by-step procedures Set up and configure desktops, telephones, and peripherals for all new and visiting users. Configure, test, and troubleshoot smartphones and mobile devices Maintain loaner laptop, peripherals, and smartphone inventory database; set up loaner devices; ensure secure and adequate connectivity for travel Perform equipment relocations for office moves; back-up/restore local files from one PC to the other Image and re-image PCs and laptops with the Firm s standard desktop Coordinate with IT vendors for service, repairs, and parts, as needed Assist with roll-outs for new technologies and software programs Assist with monitoring server room equipment Support Facilities department functions, as needed Perform other duties as assigned Required Skills Basic computer skills in hardware, imaging, networking, Windows operating systems, Lenovo hardware products, Apple/Mac platforms, and smartphone technology Knowledge of AV equipment, remote management tools, legacy networks web-based media Ability to communicate effectively with personnel, clients, and third-party vendors Must be able to educate end users in a clear and concise manner, both in writing and verbally Ability to work effectively under pressure, multi-task and set priorities while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including supporting Facilities department functions, as needed, such as office moves and conference room configurations Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Strong attention to detail Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division Required Experience 2 to 4 years of relevant experience required Preferred Experience Experience in a professional services environment preferred Required Education High school diploma or GED equivalent required Preferred Education College degree/coursework or technical training preferred.
