Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The candidate will be expected to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses about the estimating, scheduling, safety, quality control, and procurement of Heavy Civil/Highway Construction. The teaching load will include 6-7 courses per year. The primary mode of instruction will be a traditional classroom setting. In addition, the applicant will be expected to develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in some (but not necessarily all) of the following: Construction methods and materials, construction field supervision, and emerging construction technologies. Other duties will include participation in service-related activities for the department, college, university, and industry. Industry service includes activities such as serving on committees and boards for industry organizations related to construction education, scholarships, and/or pre-college recruitment, and developing industry support for co-ops and construction-related student activities. In addition, the candidate will be expected to participate in curriculum and course development, particularly in efforts to include Heavy Civil/Highway Construction learning modules in the broader curriculum. Minimum qualifications: For the rank of (Assistant, Associate, or Full) Professor-Educator, a Ph.D. in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field, is required. For the rank of (Assistant, Associate, or Full) Professor of Practice, the following minimum qualifications are required: A Master's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a closely related field and a minimum of 5 years of US industry experience in Heavy Civil/Highway Construction, OR An MBA and a minimum of 5 years of US industry experience in Heavy Civil/Highway Construction. The rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full will be negotiated commensurate with the candidate's experience.
