Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Essential Responsibilities: The Fellow will work with our Trademark and other Intellectual Property attorneys to: Conduct research in on various trademark, copyright, licensing, rights of publicity and related matters. Conduct US Preliminary and comprehensive trademark searches. Draft cease and desist letters related to trademark matters. Draft memoranda and provide analysis related to IP/Trademark matters. Draft responses to substantive US office actions. Assist the Chief Global Executive Brand Counsel with simplification projects, workflow function improvement and other legal work. Assist the Chief IP Counsel, Global Chief Privacy Officer, and Critical Information Protection Leader with research, memoranda, simplification projects, workflow function improvement and other legal work Qualifications/Requirements: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school is required by the start date The lawyer will sit for a Bar exam prior to joining GE Desired Characteristics: GPA of at least 3.3 preferred Candidates graduating Spring 2018 and sitting for the bar over the summer are welcome to apply Proven record of success and demonstrated leadership ability Expert- level proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. PowerPoint and Excel) Solid research and analytical skills Strong written and verbal communication skills The program is open to current 3rd year law students.
