Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The incumbent will provide underwriting and credit management leadership to cross-functional deal teams in underwriting commercial and/or consumer lender finance transactions. This includes, but is not limited to, transaction due diligence, collateral analysis, structuring, cash flow modeling, negotiation, approval, legal documentation, and closing. The individual will primarily underwrite new transactions, as well as assist in the restructuring of existing transactions, and consult with team members to manage and monitor portfolio accounts. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Plays a key role completing and presenting pre-screen memos, credit approval memos, collateral analysis, cash flow modeling, and risk rating assessment for recourse and non-recourse loans to non-bank financial institutions. Leads or directly involved in underwriting and documenting structured loan transactions. Performs underwriting diligence, including industry research, company research, identifying a borrower s performance drivers, projecting future corporate and asset performance and anticipated ability to repay debt, as well as assessing how stress cases impact the credit. Prepares risk assessments and presents senior management with a clear and consistent approach to mitigate credit, legal, regulatory and other relevant risks. Maintain detailed financial models; develop sensitivity analysis around key economic drivers. Maintain all operational aspects of a transaction from deal initiation to close. Negotiates terms and conditions for transactions and works with cross-functional teams to ensure appropriate documentation. Manages accounts to ensure customer retention and performance to specifications. Coaches and develops junior team members. Partners with Relationship Managers and Portfolio Managers to cultivate excellent client relationships. Exhibits a sense of urgency towards meeting client requests while also meeting acceptable risk parameters. Understands and promotes bank and capital markets products to assist the Relationship Managers in meeting profitability targets. Ensures compliance in credit policies and procedures. Evaluate risk/return dynamics for proposed transactions. Basic Qualifications: Either a Bachelor s Degree or Military Experience At least 10 years of experience in lender finance or at least 10 years of experience in structured finance or at least 10 years of experience in securitization or at least 10 years of experience in commercial banking or at least 10 years of experience in rating agency analysis. Preferred Qualifications: Masters Degree and/or CFA. Experience with a broad range of commercial and/or consumer asset classes. Demonstrated superior leadership with ability to thrive in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Familiarity with financial products available to financial institutions, including cash flow lending, bond issuance, secured recourse lending, non-recourse lending (i.e. securitization), mezzanine credit, hedging. Able to work in a team environment, while interacting with multiple teams and multiple deals concurrently. Strong executive presence and communication skills. Entrepreneurial mindset. Strong capital markets knowledge; ABS experience a plus. Strong background in financial statement analysis, financial modeling, and valuation. Background in preparing financial information, interpreting financial performance, and assessing risk exposure. High partnership orientation. Strong risk management orientation.
