Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The successful candidate will have knowledge of how trademarks provide a market advantage for a world-wide oil products business. This position will require the application of legal support skills specific to trademark and copyright law. Accountabilities associated with this position include: Prepare weekly docket records and other reports, as requested, using Web TMS; Create, update, and maintain docket records and electronic files for all trademark and copyright assets and trademark and copyright matters including prosecution, conflict, Trademark Trial and Appeal Board ( TTAB ), and litigation matters; Prepare and send deadline reminders to stakeholders and attorney(s); Correspond directly with stakeholders regarding routine phases of trademark prosecution and maintenance matters; Prepare domestic trademark applications, renewals, extensions of time, affidavits of use, and all other documents related to the application and prosecution of domestic trademark applications; Assist attorney(s) in the preparation of documentation in response to United States office action and oppositions; Prepare and record trademark and copyright assets ownership and change of name documents and assignments; Assist attorney(s) with all filings; Prepare and file customs registrations and renewals with the United States Customs and Border Patrol; Draft and Prepare Powers of Attorney; Attend to the legalization of Powers of Attorney, and other documents required for foreign filings worldwide; Maintain and assist with the prosecution of foreign trademark applications and registrations; Assist with the prosecution of domestic and foreign opposition proceedings, cancellation proceedings, and investigations, including gathering evidence and relevant materials; Prepare cost estimates for availability searches, new filings, conflict matters, and other actions as needed; Conduct and review preliminary and full trademark clearance searches, and prepare and draft clearance memoranda; Conduct due diligence on trademark portfolios; Assist stakeholders on appropriate trademark and copyright markings, trademark practices, and procedures; Draft Uniform Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (UDRP) complaints and additional submissions; Draft cease and desist letters for review by attorney(s); Draft trademark assets assignment agreements; Draft trademark license assignment agreements; Draft co-existence and settlement agreements; Draft copyright license agreements and respond to stakeholder routine inquiries; Draft Take Down Requests pursuant to the Digital Millennium Copyright Act and various platforms Terms of Use/Service; Respond to stakeholders routine domain name inquiries, and facilitate domain name transfers; Provide support in connection with trademark transactions; Support attorney(s) and outside counsel with litigation, including create and organize trademark litigation documents and exhibits, discovery, pleadings, and trial preparation; Monitor trademark and copyright law developments worldwide; Review and approve invoices; and, Assist with special projects as assigned. Specific duties and responsibilities may include: Major-case litigation management and assistance Preparation of Unanimous Written Consents Review of Legal SLA Invoices Legal Metrics and Reporting Requirements Must be a U.S. Citizen, or hold a valid work visa that does not require sponsorship in order to legally work full-time in the United States High School diploma or GED required Minimum seven (7 ) years relevant paralegal experience including Trademarks Paralegal certificate is desirable Experience with UDRP is preferred Experience with MS Office products including Excel databases Able to effectively work in a team setting with a variety of stakeholders LI-MA No. of Positions 1 Disclaimer.
