Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Position Job Description: Develops data architecture for a given VA Subject Area, prepares, and communicates changes from the business standpoint. Creates new conceptual, and logical models to deliver new requirements. Apply enterprise architecture principles, standards. Ability to evaluate and assesses existing legacy data assets against data standards with an eye on modernization and simplification. Contribute to development of data architecture governance, and controls. Participate in peer reviews in regards to data, security, and cloud. Contribute to the implementation of a master data management strategy that identifies single authoritative data sources (single version of truth). Assist in the capture and entry of enterprise business content into the VEAR, in the form of business capabilities and business functions models, business process models (BPMs), business rules and operational node structures. Define, capture, review, and validate enterprise processes and process plans, in collaboration with VA Administrations, Staff Office personnel, and stakeholder support. Create and build application models for business operation processes. Translate specified modeling requirements to realizations using modeling tools, sub-system simulation using boundary conditions, and closed loop control methods. Integrate the process models with sub-system control code to generate real time simulation. Document model configuration & model validation, principles of operation, and application guidelines Qualifications: Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to effectively present information to external groups Hands-on ability to build and manage enterprise data models (E/R and UML) using tools like Unicom System Architect Expertize in developing Conceptual, Logical and Physical Data Models Well versed in the data domains (Analytics, Business Intelligence, Relational Data, Operational Data Store, Metadata, and Master Data) Familiar with Data Integration and ETL implementations, preferably using Informatica Familiar with Information Exchanges Familiar with unstructured or semi-structured data design Education: Bachelors Degree in computer science or engineering.
