Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Data Management and Analysis Activities: Conduct and analyze trademark searches in U.S. and international databases and draft preliminary clearance opinions Supervise and instruct the outside Counsel coordinating international trademark clearance prosecution and related matters, in order to obtain maximum protection in the most cost effective manner possible Assist in the development and implementation of cost effective filing program strategies Maintain files and databases for U.S. and international trademarks Maintain a docket of intellectual property disputes Reporting and Forecasting Activities: Prepare domestic and international trademark assignments and other transfer documents as needed and oversee recording activity Administer trademark budget and cost tracking Generate related reports for the General Counsel Maintain intercompany license agreements Support Activities: Provide support for pending trademark litigation, opposition and cancellation proceedings and infringement matters around the globe, including gathering and maintaining evidence of use, reputation and other documentation Support in-house Attorneys, other Legal Department members and clients in projects Provide concise, business-oriented advice to other Legal Team Members and clients Review and revise advertising copy and marketing materials in order to help accomplish business objectives while minimizing any accompanying risks Draft cease and desist letters and takedown requests Desired Attributes: Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks Ability to organize and manage multiple projects from initiation to conclusion with minimal guidance from superiors Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced and pressurized environment is essential Exceptional writing ability and proofreading skills Exceptional communication skills Extremely responsive with customer service orientation and initiative to ensure timely support Collaborative team player High degree of initiative and sense of responsibility Autonomous, proactive, able to develop new and creative ideas Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with persons of many different nationalities and cultures To fulfill this role successfully, you must possess the following minimum qualifications and experience: BA/BS Bachelors Degree or Paralegal Certificate A minimum of three (3) years of Paralegal experience gained from working at a major law firm, intellectual property boutique or corporate legal department Experience communicating legal concepts and effectively relaying them to the client groups Online electronic research experience Windows literate; working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Strong research skills and experience It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions: A minimum of five (5) years of Paralegal experience gained from working at a major law firm.
