Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The successful leader will have strong financial acumen, including prior work within either the consulting advisory sector or directly working within a private equity or investment banking organization. They will excel at developing a network of relationships, by providing knowledgeable and valued perspective within the market. While this role is predominantly focused on business development, the prior expertise of the Managing Director will enable him/her to perform and/or support the delivery of short term engagements. And, with a creative and entrepreneurial approach, the Managing Director will build a business plan for the Western Region in order to establish MainStream s recognized presence in the market. Other duties and responsibilities include identifying prospective targets and market opportunities, developing strategies for and conducting negotiations, bringing sales activities to closure, ensuring the effective implementation of internal processes and adhering to the highest standards of professionalism and business integrity. Responsibilities New Business Development - 80% Develop strategic partnerships with Private Equity firms, financial lenders and creditors and the legal community, all of which are stakeholders of Middle Market businesses. These relationships shall afford MainStream the opportunity to - Establish a network of contacts for referral work within our selected markets Develop significant prospective revenue and repeat engagement potential Serve as a trusted advisor, by providing expert insights that are valued by the client and lead to improved overall financial results. Significantly grow MainStream s market share by proactively prospecting and identifying new business relationships Expand business, achieve annual budget requirements and manage to P&L goals Implement and maintain a territory management/business plan that includes the regular assessment of market trends, client issues and overall strategy development Develop solutions and author MainStream proposals and presentations, including pricing options, that align to stated client requirements and improve the business performance of our clients. Delivery (15%) Lead and manage a team of MainStream resources to successfully deliver client engagements Present engagement results and outcomes to senior management Assure client satisfaction with deliverables and participate in quality assurance reviews Administration (5%) Accountability for stellar customer management, financial stewardship and ownership of business success. Effectively management of MainStreams internal processes, including review of budgets, billing and invoicing. Tracking of all activities within MainStreams CRM, such as forecasting opportunities, documenting contacts and meetings, following up on leads and providing status on wins/losses. Requirements: Financial services background with minimum of 5 years experience in either private equity, lending, investment banking or management consulting. Demonstrated ability to understand financial, economic and business management issues in order to identify client needs and develop valued solutions. Experience in the development and execution of the sales process to close deals with senior level decision-makers. A self-starter, who is creative, entrepreneurial and motivated to establish MainStream s business and maximize market growth opportunities. Strong written and presentation skills in order to convey a clear concise message so that customers understand and are influenced to act. A team player, as demonstrated by the ability to maintain strong workplace relationships that are based on respectful and positive interactions. Demonstrated use of technology to manage internal and external business activities. Undergraduate Degree with MBA from top school preferred. Expected Outcomes 45 Days Understanding of MainStreams strategy and business priorities Complete on-boarding training plan, including use of technology Understanding of customer needs and key market trends Describe MainStream services in the context of these issues Review of prior solutions and engagements that have created results for our clients Present elevator speech on MainStream and our key diffentiators Shadow one client teleconference or meeting Identify key targets for active pursuit and begin establishing new relationships through prospecting and networking with an expectation of an average of at least 25 calls per week. 90 Days Average prospecting calls per week - 75 Onsite client meetings held or conference calls scheduled per week - 3 Strong, collaborative relationship developed with 1 potential strategic client as demonstrated by their interest in MSM services and willing to meet with other members of the MSM leadership team Pipeline should include up to 10 identified opportunities in early-to-mid stages Identified pipeline revenue (gross value) $250,000 6 Months Strong, collaborative relationships developed 5 potential strategic clients Pipeline should include up to 20 identified opportunities from early- to-late stages Identified pipeline revenue (gross value) $750,000 1 closed engagement 12 Months Achievement of annual budget target.
