Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Key Responsibilities Include: Supervising day-to-day operations of the Grassroots Operations of the association. Developing and designing strategy to increase political involvement of ABA member banks and promote ABA grassroots program. Implementing new, hybrid grassroots/communications projects with a positive banking focus. Managing Grassroots Committee and develop agenda for regular meetings and monthly conference calls. Serving as presenter and key staff expert on the importance of political advocacy at conferences, schools and internal meetings. Coordinating closely with State Banking Associations Tracking metrics for internal ABA reporting effort and managing the budget. Requirements College degree and 6-8 years of work experience in developing and implementing grassroots advocacy programs on either the local, state or federal level. Ability to develop strategies to enhance and promote the operations of organization. Skills in oral presentations to persuade bankers to be involved in grassroots advocacy. Ability to work independently when needed and with internal and external staff as required to produce required assignments without direct supervision. Knowledge of banking issues and federal legislative process.
