Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Duties: Contribute to the formulation of a Group enterprise cloud architecture strategy and framework supporting cloud-native and hybrid cloud solution design approaches and reference implementations which are anchored in technology landscape and aligned with specific business application requirements and constraints. Work with ITS Lines of Business to offer contextualized technology strategies and solutions, roadmaps and plans which are specific to their business needs. Guide delivery teams to accurately document WBG cloud environments, integration platforms, data flows, application inventories, entity-relationships, and process workflows. Collaborate with WBG enterprise and solution architects to generate RFI and RFP responses. Identify market technology trends which create the potential for to leverage/accelerate the use of innovative digital platforms and/or hosting solutions. Selection Criteria: Minimum Education/Experience: 1. Master's degree with 10 years of experience plus professional training in project management, Sample degrees include: Computer Science, Library Science, Information Management or Information Systems. (Bachelor's degree is minimum education requirement, with 10 years of relevant experience). 2. Minimum 10 years of experience in IT Application Development or Architecture with at least 5 years in Cloud application development, migration, or transformation experience, Application architecture/design experience for Cloud platform solutions, involving IaaS, PaaS or SaaS solutions. 3. AWS Solutions Architect Professional Certification and/or equivalent Microsoft Azure certification preferred. Required Competencies Senior cloud architect with substantive experience in articulating enterprise level cloud-native and hybrid cloud architectures and design frameworks, and aligning application/solution designs within these architectures/frameworks. Financial and banking sector IT experience is a definite plus. Experience in guiding and collaborating with solution delivery teams to architect enterprise cloud applications in multi-cloud and hybrid cloud environments, including addressing infrastructure, security, solution and enterprise architecture considerations. Deep knowledge and experience of Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Microsoft Azure public cloud platforms and services in an enterprise environment. Experience with IaaS/PaaS cloud architectures and patterns (e.g. horizontal scaling, immutability, 12-factor design). Prior experience with leading an enterprise level cloud migration Experience with delivering effective strategies for cloud integration Experience designing and implementing CI/CD toolchains leveraging Microsoft TFS, Git/SVN, Chef, Jenkins, etc. Experience with cloud infrastructure and application templates (e.g. using AWS Cloud Formation, Azure Resource Manager). Familiarity with cloud management/monitoring tools such as Splunk, ServiceNow, VRealize, Cloud Checkr, etc. Familiarity with cloud migration processes and supporting tools (e.g. EMC Adaptivity, Racemi, etc.). Familiarity with implementing microservices and container-based architectures and deployments in cloud environments (e.g. Docker, Cloud Foundry, Kubernetes). Client Understanding and Advising - Advises the client and helps them think proactively about how to best meet their current and future needs, taking into consideration the real underlying issues that the client may not be aware of. Learning Orientation - Stays abreast of broad new trends and developments in the industry and. draws on learning to introduce others to emerging trends and new approaches to address current and future issues and opportunities. Broad Business Thinking - Maintains a deep understanding of key business issues and the broader VPU-wide ramifications of decisions to ensure consistency across the VPU and client s business. Engages business leaders in the identification of medium-term business solutions. Business Function Knowledge - Sets the direction for and steers medium-term enhancements of integrated standards and significant business performance drivers. Foundation Architecture Knowledge - Researches the design of new architectural components. Knowledge of Emerging Technology - Defines the processes and practices for evaluating new technologies and their potential value to the business. Risk Management - Assesses the probability associated with varying degrees of risk in complex situations that have wide ranging impact. Strategic Technology Planning - Researches and benchmarks against best-practice architecture/technology needs for significant, integrated work processes. Systems Thinking - Plans improvements that take into account the critical, underlying and less apparent relationships between business, technology and systems platforms. Lead and Innovate - Develops innovative solutions with others. Deliver Results for Clients - Achieves results and identifies mission-driven solutions for the client. Collaborate Within Teams and Across Boundaries - Initiates collaboration across boundaries and broadly across WBG, and brings differing ideas into the forefront. Create, Apply and Share Knowledge - Creates, applies and shares knowledge from across and outside WBG to strengthen internal and/or external client solutions. Make Smart Decisions - Recommends and takes decisive action. Other Selection Criteria: In-depth knowledge of Cloud solutions, approaches and principles, and exposure to other emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Robotics, Blockchain. Experience in IT Application Development or Architecture to support an organization s application services requirements. Experience designing, configuring, and optimizing use of cloud services and related architecture/design for Cloud platform solutions, involving IaaS, PaaS or SaaS solutions in support of an organization s infrastructure and application services requirements. Prior experience with leading an enterprise level cloud migration. Experience with delivering effective strategies for cloud integration. Prior success in designing cloud applications, supporting changes to development, testing, deployment, migration/transformation and configuration management processes consistent with a DevOps approach. Exceptional analytical and problem solving skills, including the ability to define technology roadmaps and evaluate total-cost-of-ownership of solutions. Experience evaluating cloud service designs and alternatives to achieve WBG s desired balance of performance, risk, and cost. Familiar with deployment patterns/strategy (blue/green, canary, rolling, draining) Have R&D experience especially in building R&D tool environment in cloud computing environment. Experience managing programs and/or multiple projects, including simultaneous task assignments. Strong teamwork and interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate with all management levels.
