Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Specific Responsibilities: Develop, test, and support complex new and preexisting programs, applications or systems related to data interfaces. Conduct test on data content and referential integrity of inbound client data. Interact with clients to gather and document requirements for ETL process modification and custom data extractions. Liaise with multiple internal teams on shared tasks e.g. Operations, Engineering, Customer Support, etc. Basic Qualifications: BS/BA degree in Computer Science or Information Systems 3-5 years of PL/SQL design experience; knowledge of designing, coding and debugging SQL and PL/SQL code for Oracle packages/procedures/views 3-5 years of experience with flat file data manipulation using Unix/Linux shell scripting and utilities 3-5 years Business or systems analysis experience Proven understanding of database modeling concepts: entities/tables, relations/constraints, attribute data types and column data times Ability to read and interpret conceptual, logical, and physical models to include context diagrams, data flow diagrams, process flow diagrams, data dictionaries and logical flow charts Ability to develop and manage multiple projects with minimal direction and supervision Superior written and oral communication skills Ideal Qualifications: Demonstrable understanding of RDBMS concepts and their application in ETL e.g. complex queries, outer joins, and aggregate and analytical functions Demonstrable ability to independently perform system investigation, reverse engineering, and new development with minimal guidance while adhering to development standards and good change control practices Experience with flat file data manipulation using Perl Experience with EDI (ANSI X12) processing ideally with 835 and 837 transaction types Experience with HIPAA, or other similar industry standard, security and privacy requirements Insurance or healthcare industry experience.
