Job Responsibilities and Requirements: ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: List 5 to 6 of the job s essential or most important functions and responsibilities. Promote safety consciousness and adherence to OSHA, client, federal, state and local safety requirements Educate and negotiate with Customers to address customer concerns in a professional manner. Coordinate schedules for engineering, site preparation, equipment and contract crew for Power Delivery maintenance, restoration activities, construction storm hardening and major improvement/expansions. Knowledge of Safe Dig is a requirement Oversee Line contractor s activity with all customers for Power Delivery projects Respond to contractor questions concerning work specifications and requirements Oversee and ensure timely delivery of appropriate materials and equipment to perform work Inspect evaluate and provide cost effective recommendations to address patrol objectives Inspect work completed by contractors for compliance to utility specifications. Assist in management of Contractors during Storm restoration operations Knowledge of Construction and Safety Practices in working with voltages between 13kV and 240kV Advanced Rigging and Lift Plan Development Oversee installation of high voltage equipment including switches, breakers, capacitor banks, CCVT s, wave traps, PT s, transformers, control panels and battery banks. Oversee Major Site Development, including Grounding, Excavation & Fill, Drainage Irrigation, Commercial Building Construction, Major Site Clearing, Trenching, installation of poured & pre-cast foundations and landscaping Identify and Perform OSHA Tagging and Lockout Procedures Assist in management of Contractors during Storm restoration operations Develop and Mentor employees Support additional duties as assigned by management COMPLEXITY OF WORK: Non-routine; general polices applied to frequently changing situations. RELATIONSHIP OUTSIDE WORK GROUP: (Select one statement that most closely represents the job.) Influences decisions of major nature. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: None Position Requirements QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE (Please indicate/select required or preferred) Required High school degree or GED. Preferred Associates degree (AA or equivalent from two-year college or technical school). Preferred Engineering Degree awarded from a College of University that is accredited by ABET Not Applicable Master s Degree Experience 5-7 Year(s) Experience in Substation (engineering, operations or construction) required. Journeyman Qualification is Preferred prior experience with substation construction preferred Construction management experience -preferred Good English Skills- both written and Verbal- required CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: A valid state driver s license is required ON-THE-JOB TRAINING: Applicant will be required to complete a 2-3 week training program LANGUAGE SKILLS: A. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, operational procedures, etc. B. Ability to write reports, Business correspondence, and procedure manuals. C. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: 1.Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret spread sheets. 2.Ability to compute rate, ratios, and percent and to draw and interpret spreadsheets 3.Choose an item. REASONING ABILITY: A. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
