Position Summary: The physician executive position will have complete responsibility for all the clinical components and strategy for the Behavioral Health Service Line. The job requires a top psychiatrist with deep subject matter expertise and strong clinical experience working in a large, complex integrated delivery system, top teaching hospital or in related institutions or companies. The position will be charged with helping to facilitate the design and development of Behavioral Service Line for CHS utilizing all the existing hospital, out-patient and clinic assets of CHS and combining them into a single unified enterprise. Working with senior system leadership the position will help build and manage a forward thinking, clinically relevant and fiscally prudent organization that will help meet the current and future needs mental health needs of the community in the growing CHS coverage area. Position Accountabilities: Work with senior executive team on the design and development of the new Behavioral Service Line using all existing behavioral health assets, defining resource requirements, leadership structure and reporting relationships. Establish a new way of thinking about the delivery of behavioral healthcare services including a progressive and cost effective manner, while maximizing clinical excellence. Serve as system wide subject matter expert on clinical behavioral health as the senior physician in the service line. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable National, State and local laws and regulations, JCAHO, NCQA and other regulatory requirements affective the medical and allied health staff. Monitors effectiveness of management practices and productivity indicators using data such as turnover rates, absenteeism, budget variance, patient, MD, and staff satisfaction surveys. Demonstrates effective leadership skills of delegation, organization, and coordination of the intra-department activities and inter-department integration. Serves as liaison with all external parties and institutions, including public, governmental, and DUHS entities. Qualifications: Education: MBA, MPH or Advanced degree in related field preferred MD / Licensed Psychiatrist with current, unrestricted license (Board Certified to practice Psychiatry). Must be eligible for North Carolina licensure Work Experience, Skills & Abilities: Ten+ years in clinical practice, with strong subject matter expertise in all aspects behavioral healthcare Knowledgeable of and practical experienced in the principles and procedures of healthcare management and medical management, peer review, and triage and health information programs Minimum of 5-10+ years' experience in a progressive health care management environment, preferably with large integrated delivery system or psychiatric facility Prior work experience and strong working knowledge of financials, budget, and compensation At , our patients, communities and teammates are at the center of everything we do.
