Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The incumbent will be responsible for supporting new business development and client retention efforts of Private Client Services Advisors through the design, presentation and execution of detailed financial plans, which take into account risk, reward and opportunity. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES These are the most significant job duties performed. The size, scope and complexity of assigned duties and responsibilities are dependent on the level and experience of the incumbent. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each assigned essential duty satisfactorily. Other responsibilities or special projects not specifically mentioned may also be assigned. Partner with Client Advisors and Investment Advisors by preparing for, conducting and following up on client/prospect meetings with attention to detail and accuracy, including data gathering, preparing financial statements, performing financial (tax, retirement, cash flow, etc.) analysis as needed. Responsible for preparing and presenting unbiased and customized financial plans, including proactive, high impact planning solutions (estate, tax, insurance, options, investments and retirement). Develops financial plan based on analysis of data, and discusses financial options with other client team members and Clients. Includes development of all presentation materials to be given to the client. Structure and present financial plans/presentations in a simple to understand, conversational manner. Understands and complies with all Bank policies and procedures, and federal and state laws and regulations pertinent to this position; stays informed and shares updates on changes with management. Required to successfully complete all required Compliance training. Continuously supports the Bank s Mission Statement and Core Values. Must be able to travel to various WM branch locations and/or to Client Meetings. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no direct or indirect supervisory responsibilities. QUALIFICATIONS The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required to perform this job successfully. Education and Work Experience Minimum Required Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 5 or more years of related experience/experience in financial services; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be comfortable working with high net worth individuals and families and have experience with financial planning, banking, investments, tax and wealth transfer strategies. Certificates and Licenses Certified Financial Planner (CFP) - demonstrated experience with identifying trends and tracking key deliverables and risks such as: costs associated with proposed changes to programs and systems; and effectiveness of programs year-over-year in improving overall performance and achieving desired business results. Job - Specific Knowledge Operational/Regulations Processes - Ability to quickly become knowledgeable about all applicable firm processes, protocols and reporting. Finance & Accounting - Intermediate to Advanced knowledge of accounting principles, bank accounting and general ledgers, operating procedures within accounting/finance area, applicable laws, regulations and practices, financial markets, financial analysis, and reporting of financial data. Sales - proven selling and negotiating skills with effective sales ability and persuasiveness and marketing techniques. Demonstrates knowledge in the following skills: client interviewing, sales, cross selling, consultative sales, proposals preparation, and presentation. Competencies To perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies. Technical Skills Strong Fluency user of Windows applications and Microsoft Office programs such as, Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Exposure to eMoney or financial planning software experience strongly preferred. Knowledge of planning, investment and tax software programs. Accurately inputs and manipulates information into financial planning tools. Quickly learns and achieves proficiency in new software applications as needed. Analytical Skills Strong aptitude for understanding and analyzing large amounts of data from multiple sources. Develops insightful, value-added and actionable analyses with detailed explanations regarding drivers of those results. Communication Skills Writes clearly and informatively. Presents organized and thorough information and data appropriate for intended audience. Demonstrates group presentation skills to deal effectively with individuals and groups within and outside the organization. Time Management Skills Provides timely and professional support to all internal/external customers. Prioritizes regular workload, special tasks and concurrent projects, allocating time and resources to ensure that work is completed accurately and efficiently within established time frame. Other Self-motivated. Works with minimal supervision. Team-oriented. Establishes and maintains effective, collaborative work relationships both internally and externally.
