Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The successful candidate will be responsible for researching, modeling and forecasting metrics vital to the commercial real estate business. The Economist will perform complex economic and statistical analysis and prepare reports and presentations for executives and senior level management. Specifically, the Economist would be expected to construct econometric models for forecasting purposes and draw inferences about alternative economic conditions in terms of their implication for demand, supply, vacancy and price considerations. A familiarity with regional economics and commercial real estate is strongly preferred, as the candidate s work is central to supporting the largest CRE loan portfolio in the United States. The position is very team-oriented and will require extensive interaction with other economists and banking professionals engaged in analysis, forecasting and risk management purposes. Though directly reporting to the Corporate Economist, the successful candidate will operate with considerable independence. Excellent analytic skills are required and experience with statistical software, such as Eviews, would be looked upon favorably. Strong communication and project management skills are required. Required Qualifications: 5+ years of economics experience Desired Qualifications: A Master's degree or higher in a quantitative discipline Commercial banking experience Commercial real estate experience Ability to present technical concepts to senior leaders Ability to translate business requirements into technical requirements Knowledge and understanding of analytical methods used in: statistical analysis, modeling, and reporting.
