Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Duties & Responsibilities Maintain and manage Patent portal; Work closely with engineers to understand and improve Invention Disclosure Forms (IDF); Monitor the progress of IDF review process; Review and grade IDF's for patentability Maintain patent database; Work with outside counsel to update and maintain patent database; Generate Excel based charts Track maintenance fee payments Administrate patent awards program Coordinate with HR and finance to oversee the distribution of monthly patent awards Coordinate the ordering and distribution of patent plaques Provide legal support for open source licensing review and documentation; Review open source licenses Learn compliance requirements of open source licenses Work with engineers to locate and determine proper licenses for open source software Provide litigation support; Gather documents, interface between outside counsel and employees, maintain files, prepare correspondences Assist in responding to third party subpoenas, such as gathering documents, assisting in preparation of responses, and communicating with attorneys Provide legal support for GDPR and privacy compliance programs; Assist in responding to customer request for GDPR compliance information Learn GDPR compliance and principles Work with product teams on GDPR and privacy issues Qualifications/Requirements 1+ year of overall experience in a law clerk role Law degree from an accredited law school Undergraduate degree in engineering or computer science Law firm or in house patent law experience Interest or experience in GDPR or privacy law.
