Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The Senior Manager, Customer Data Stewardis responsible for defining the customer data strategy, ensuring the execution of initiatives related to customer data including defining taxonomy, customer data cleanse processes, unification, governance, measurement and continuous improvement. This role provides support to Marketing and other business stakeholders in driving alignment on common definitions, business rules and usage and thereby creating a culture of customer data stewardship in order to drive incremental value to the customers through more effective and data driven marketing. This role will report to the Director, Marketing Orchestration. Scope Of Responsibilities (Other duties may be assigned) Define the strategic agenda for customer data management and prioritize initiatives and maintain a roadmap for customer data management improvement Develop and make recommendations to management for strategic, operational and financial effectiveness of enterprise data and customer data Establish a clear and concise customer data management process and governanceDefine the data acquisition strategy to ensure that desired levels of depth, breadth and quality are achieved Define customer, product and communications taxonomyDefine all fields representing a customer and their interactions/behaviorsPartner with the IT department to align taxonomy to the current state of customer data with a clear visibility and target of future statePartner with the IT department to translate customer taxonomy into data models and to deliver the single view of the customer Establish business rules that dictate the ingestion, modification, storage and disposition of customer data sets meeting Paneras objectivesServe as the customer data steward, responsible for utilizing the organization's data governance processes to ensure fitness of data, establish the business objectives and strategies and data needs in order to inform the data policies, standards and documentationIdentify quality improvement opportunities and coordinate the implementation; Serve as primary stakeholder and business decision maker around issue resolution, data quality initiatives.Includes reviewing data and reporting in order to discover data issues and perform diagnosis Create the measurement plan for data management, including database readiness metrics and metrics that capture the impact of database readiness on downstream marketing processes Establish a customer data health dashboard to represent the true health of customer Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of Panera Breads data resources, including operational databases, and data flows with external partners Drive stakeholder alignment of internal data sources and develop strong relationships with cross-functional teamsProactively communicate data management status, progress and successUnderstand emerging customer data management trends and can provide SWOT analysis and recommendations on pursuing new innovations (i.e. customer data platforms) Ensure that standard operating procedures and corporate privacy and data security policies are observed Qualifications Education Bachelors degree required MBA or other graduate level degree preferred 7 years of experience in marketing operations or customer data management roles for data-driven marketing organizationsProven experience driving data quality initiatives, joining data from disparate systems and finding new ways to provide data consumers easy access to the information they needAbility to provide a vision and act as an advocate for data management Must have thorough understanding of current data cleansing, warehousing and unification strategies and tools to apply that knowledge in defining future state of customer data definitions and taxonomy Must have solid multi-year experience effectively partnering with IT organizations to ensure implementation of marketing/business needs Must be customer-centric in thinking with process-orientation to drive implementation of customer data strategy across the organization Knowledge of these marketing tools and technologies are needed to be successful in this role:Marketing automation platforms Business intelligence toolsData modeling and analytics tools Content management/Web content managementDigital media and social media toolsKnows how to prioritize based on business value and can make decisions based on information available Can lead effective teams and has the ability to build consensus in a matrix environment with multiple functional groupsAbility to effectively communicate, influence and lead others and articulate complex ideas with clarity Can work in fast paced environment and knows how to focus his/her time on what is important Needham Support Center.
