Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The Financial Analyst is responsible for completing various accounting and financial analysis in support of Operational needs which include: 1. Creates, analyzes and interprets complex financial proformas, reports and other financial data to be used in operational decision making process. 2. Uses sophisticated technical skills and rigorous system logic and methods to obtain data via system queries including linkage of data tables. Specifically, Epic and Lawson. 3. Obtains data from third parties or system queries. Validates and/or challenges the data to ensure integrity prior to completion of financial analysis. 4. Provides statistical analysis of all phases of operation as needed and required using application software, query, and other system programs. 5. Designs and develops new reports, modifies current reports, and ad hoc reports as requested; responsible for analyzing and reviewing data for completeness and accuracy. 6. Other special projects within the organization as assigned. Nature & Scope This position presents to Management any findings, interpretations, and recommendations on the reports/data they are creating and/or analyzing. The position understands general accounting principles and can explain concepts to lay person. This position requires minimal direction from management and is able to think and solve problems independently. Must be goal-oriented and a proactive thinker who challenges current processes and makes recommendations for improvement. Must demonstrate problem solving skills with effective solutions and looking beyond the obvious and does not stop at the first answer. This position must possess self-development skills which includes being committed to and actively working to continuously improve him/her as well as understanding that different situations and levels may call for different skills and approaches. Must be able to deal with ambiguity which includes effectively coping with change and shifting gears comfortably. This position must possess interpersonal savvy to be able to relate and communicate with multiple levels of people possessing different skill sets including subordinate staff and management personnel across departments. The person needs to be a quick learner. This position must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and advanced interpersonal skills necessary to maintain effective communication with a variety of internal and external customers. Must be able to make recommendations in all areas of responsibility and present these recommendations both orally and in writing in a public setting. This person must be flexible with work hours to meet demands of a constantly changing environment. Qualifications Bachelor s degree required. Accounting, finance, information system, or business analytics degree preferred. At least 3 years of relevant experience required. Experience in Excel, database, and Word required. Proven experience in an automated environment; strong aptitude for computerized business systems. Excellent communication skills; excellent people skills; assertive, confident professional personality. Epic experience preferred.
