Job Responsibilities and Requirements: In addition, responsibilities will include building a partnership with the senior leadership team to develop and implement strategies across the organization. The CFO ensures that all accounting and financial operations are executed in accordance with the system of internal controls, and all applicable tribal, state and federal regulations and in accordance with GAAP and GASB standards and insurance accounting principles. CFO responsibilities include Oversees financial and accounting system controls and standards and ensures timely financial and statistical reports; regularly advises the CEO and Board of Directors with respect to financial reporting, planning, practices, financial stability and financial growth. Ensures effective and adequate financial controls, audits, policies and processes are in place to include Interpreting legislative and programmatic rules and regulations to ensure compliance with all federal, state, local and contractual guidelines Ensuring all government regulations and requirements are disseminated and adhered to by appropriate personnel Monitoring compliance Prepares and reviews budgets of new and existing operations; makes recommendations for annual budget for Board approval; achieves the financial objectives of the organization by exercising control and implementation over the budgetary processes of all departments and capital budgets. Oversees cost management in alignment with the company s strategic plan, especially as the organization considers bids, and collaborations with other companies/subcontractors. Regularly attends board, operational and business development meetings as necessary and performs financial presentations. Develops financial and tax strategies as well as performance measures that are consistent with Cape Fox Corporation s strategic goals and financial objectives. Develops and maintains relationships with financial institutions. Establishes financial objectives and policies; directs and oversees the presentation and accuracy of reports that detail financial position in the areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past present and future operations. Regularly assists operational management and prepares financial reports and analysis. Reviews monthly reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in attaining objectives; revises objectives and plans in accordance with current conditions. Acts as the 401(k) administrator. Oversees the accounting department and payroll and increases management s effectiveness by selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counseling and developing productivity and effectiveness among staff members. Communicates values, strategies and objectives; assigns accountabilities and plans and monitors job results. Contributes and constantly assists with the organization s effectiveness as a member of the executive management team by collaboratively offering information and opinions and integrating objectives with other functions; accomplishing related results. Hosts regular staff meetings to ensure accurate and effective communication. Maintains strict confidentiality of all privileged information. Participates in cross-functional operational team process improvement projects. Performs other duties as assigned by the Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors. Oversees full implementation of government contracts and ensures compliance with all of the Company s performance, documentation, and cost accounting requirements. Ensures legal and regulatory compliance regarding all financial functions. Directly supervises exempt and non-exempt personnel. Travel Shift Type Job Type Full-time Date Needed By Salary Grade Job Requirements CPA/CMA and Bachelor s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field and at least 10-12 years progressive work experience in accounting, auditing, finance. At least five (5) years experience as CFO or equivalent Executive Management, including supervising a staff of 10 or more. Master s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field preferred. Prefer experience working for an Alaska Native Corporation Demonstrated experience with managing financial information for parent and subsidiary organizations, meeting each company s needs. Demonstrated ability to plan, organize and manage department and responsibilities for cost management, general accounting, financial government accounting and auditing principles, procedures and techniques including GAAP, DCAA, FAR and CAS. Demonstrated ability to support and ensure all Board of Directors policies and procedures are followed. Familiarity and experience working with the SBA/8a Business Development Program. Experience with the regulatory and legal framework applicable to Alaska Native Business. Experience in the government contracting process. Skilled with computer applications, primarily Costpoint, MS Excel, Outlook and databases. Demonstrated knowledge of computerized accounting systems to include receiving and payables, cost and budgeting, payroll and financial analysis and reporting systems. Strong communication skills Demonstrated ability to foster internal and external relationships that foster and promote a team and collaborative environment. Demonstrated ability to oversee the coordination and activities of independent auditors ensuring compliance issues are met and the preparation of the annual financial statements is in accordance with GAAP and federal, state, and other required supplementary schedules and information. Strong knowledge and understanding of the auditing process.
