Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Position Summary Perform engagement management responsibilities, including performance reviews, task delegation, project scheduling, project financials, quality review and client management Utilize previous consulting and industry experience to help companies set and achieve their long term goals. Perform accurate analysis and design effective solutions to a variety of client issues Manage business development activities, such as proposals, capture, account teams, whitepapers, conferences, and/or other thought leadership material Meet or exceed sales targets for new and follow-on work Business development activities include assisting partners, principals, and managing directors throughout the entire sales cycle: client relationship building, opportunity creation/identification, opportunity qualification, proposals, statements of work, oral presentations, developing project approaches, resource models, and pricing estimates. Special emphasis on client relationship building, opportunity creation/identification, and opportunity qualification. Maintain a good working relationship with clients and work effectively with client management and staff at all levels to gather information and perform services Work closely with Grant Thornton managers and partners to promptly identify and resolve client problems or issues Access global network to bring the best experience to bear Communicate (verbally and in writing) externally with clients and internally with all levels of the organization to successfully accomplish objectives portraying knowledge and confidence Manage, develop, train, coach and mentor staff on projects and assess performance for engagement and year-end reviews Motivate others to perform at maximum efficiency without sacrificing quality of the services delivered Interview campus and/or experienced candidates Meet or exceed targeted billing hours (utilization) Other duties as assigned The candidate will be a part of a growing consulting practice focused on serving Financial Services clients in the Western Region. As a Sr. Manager, the candidate will be expected to bring leadership, depth of Financial Services industry experience, and a well-rounded background of superior client delivery. The position requires the ability to advise banking clients prepare for growth, manage risk, enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency, maintain adequate controls, navigate regulatory compliance and leverage technology. In addition to client delivery, this role will play a significant part in growing the Grant Thornton Financial Services practice in the Western region. The ideal candidate will have a strong desire to participate in business development activities with existing and prospective clients and to mentor, develop, and grow a healthy practice team. A Masters degree is a plus. 10 years experience in a consulting role serving Financial Services industry clients at a national level, with a heavy emphasis in the Banking sector required. Strong analytical skills and ability to perform quantitative analysis and develop business cases Process analysis, Reporting & Business Intelligence, Data Analysis & Reconciliation. Credible working knowledge of banking operations, products, and support functions such as Marketing, IT, Data, etc. Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent interpersonal, facilitation and presentation skillsAbility to manage multiple engagements and competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based team environment. Outstanding leadership, business development, recruiting, training, coaching, and mentoring skills, coupled with excellent written, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to travel up to 75% of the time is required.
