Senior Trademark Specialist

Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Responsibilities include: Conduct preliminary US and international screening searches via Corsearch and the Internet, analyze screening and search results and draft search summaries and recommendations for counsel; Communicate with clients directly regarding selection, clearance, adoption, usage and registration of trademarks; Manage EA worldwide trademark portfolio, including manage all files relating to domestic and international trademark matters, manage docket to ensure all deadlines are met; Prepare and electronically file U.S. trademark applications and other trademark-related documents, including renewals, assignments and other prosecution documents; Correspond with and instruct foreign counsel regarding foreign trademark applications, registrations and recordals; Monitor watch notices, draft letters to trademark applicants of conflicting and/or infringing marks; Assist Counsel in gathering evidence to support trademark proceedings and litigation such as appeals, opposition and cancellation proceedings; Advise in-house clients regarding trademark matters pursuant to EA s IP policies and guidelines; and Conduct legal research or other research projects as needed. Our next Legal Specialist will have: Bachelor s Degree or equivalent practical experience. Paralegal certificate from ABA-approved program preferable, but not required. 5-10 years prior experience at in-house legal department or law firm working on intellectual property matters. Experience with technology and games (not required, but a plus). Other Qualifications: Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and project management skills. Demonstrated attention to detail and problem-solving ability. Conversant and comfortable with the laws and rules that govern trademarks. Strong research skills utilizing on-line tools such as the USPTO website, international databases, Corsearch and Saegis. Sound judgment and excellent analytical and organizational skills, including the ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects, effectively handle shifting priorities, and adapt to the demands of a fast-paced environment.
