Job Responsibilities and Requirements: This secretary will support multiple attorneys in the intellectual property practice group. Preferred candidates will have experience working with intellectual property attorneys, as well as other practice groups. This position includes the traditional legal secretarial responsibilities such as reviewing and communicating docket to attorneys & paralegals, creating new files as needed, maintaining calendars, and general administrative duties. More than five years of legal secretary experience Exceptional organizational skills Excellent technical and communication skills Ability to type 65 wpm Attention to detail with top notch proofreading skills Proven success as a positive team player as well as an independent worker Ability to multi-task and balance multiple projects and priorities simultaneously Highly motivated professional who is enthusiastic about the opportunity to work with multiple attorneys in a fast-paced practice groups Reviewing and organizing files, reviewing docket for deadlines. Prioritizing workload to meet foreign filing deadlines and due dates. Preparing and reviewing appropriate correspondence from foreign associates and to clients and associates regarding new applications, formal requirements, filing details, etc. Assist in filing of U.S. and PCT patent applications, both electronically and paper (including preparation and review of necessary filing documents) Track chain of title in U.S. patents and ability to perfect same Communication with the USPTO and relevant knowledge regarding the USPTO databases.
