Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The ideal candidate will have experience in a large, sophisticated credit granting or risk management organization within a major consumer card, financial services, or retailing business. Their experience will have been in an environment, where risk assessment, technological sophistication, and data mining techniques are critical to their success. This individual will bring a strong analytical orientation, an appreciation for broad-based risk issues and a familiarity with operations. This person will have a demonstrated record of performance including balancing portfolio growth and profitability in a sophisticated, fast-paced credit environment complimented by overall business judgment. This role requires an individual with several years of credit risk management experience, strong statistical and data analysis skills, SAS skills, and the ability to derive rigorous segmentation results based on business knowledge and objective judgment of the balance between risk and reward for the portfolio. Candidate will be responsible for: Developing, testing, and optimizing credit policies including full accountability for implementation of those policies & processes. Manage risk levels for the entire credit spectrum across multiple products and retail formats consistent with program financial objectives. Apply an excellent working knowledge of consumer risk analytics which include scoring and segmentation techniques and their use. Tracking and reporting of initiatives and reporting performance results, emerging trends and opportunities to senior management on a timely basis. Developing and maintaining the data infrastructure to support initiatives. Research customer and/or management queries using risk systems and data Support ad-hoc risk policy analysis and projects as required Ensure regulatory compliance Key Collaboration Points Senior Risk Management, Senior Partner Risk Management (THD) Management, Marketing, Finance, Decision Management Additionally, the candidate must be able to: Understand and contribute to execution of business strategy through management of key business projects. Establish solid cross-functional partnerships and networks to contribute and execute cross-functional and business initiatives Leadership Competencies Strong Business and Data analytical skills with proven track record of complex processes and data analysis/deliverables Ability to manage multiple priorities and dealing effectively with demanding business partners Ability to work under tight deadlines Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills Ability to interact successfully with business partners, operations, technology and finance teams Strong planning, coordination and organization skills Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional organization Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) experience Good project management Business and Technical Requirements 5 years experience with credit policy analytics and development, preferably on a card portfolio. Bachelors degree in a quantitative discipline or business. Masters preferred. Extensive knowledge of SAS programming including macro and SQL programming including SAS / SAS Enterprise Miner / SAS Enterprise Guide Education Level: Bachelor's Degree is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
