Job Responsibilities and Requirements: RESPONSIBILITIES IN THIS ROLE: The Business Analyst is responsible for eliciting requirements from business owners for projects and then performing the necessary analysis and documentation to ensure the changes are made. You will work closely with business leads as well as technical teams for development, testing, and architecture in the course of delivering the changes needed by the business. Assist with determination of project scope and objectives Identify and document business processes Provide support to the Project Architect to facilitate creation of conceptual and logical architectures Elicit and document business requirements Write and maintain User Stories Participate in management of product backlog (may function as Product Owner) Identify and resolve impediments through analysis of processes and or data and engaging the appropriate resources to provide input as needed. Gather and document work estimates. Assist Project Manager in communication project requirements to matrix groups for the generation of work estimates Participate in Data Modeling - ensure Data and Reporting Requirements are documented for the Data Architect and Technical Lead. Act as a resource for the definition and understanding of data and how it will be used by the business in the new system. Partner with the Technical Lead during Design and Build phases to ensure understanding of Business and Functional Requirements. Act as a liaison to the Business Partner for any clarifications or questions on business rules, requirements or functionality. Document Implementation Strategy/Options. Work with the Business Partner and Technical Lead to define an Implementation Plan. Interface with the QA Lead from the QA Practice - provide project documentation, overviews, etc. so the QA Lead can develop the Test Strategy. May act as a Test Engineer under the guidance of a QA Practice Test Lead - in this role the BA will build and execute test scripts in Quality Center. Author and gain approval of the Service Level Agreement for support of the new system. Author and gain approval on Help Desk Procedures for the new system. Assist Project Manager and Business Partner as needed to ensure Business Readiness tasks have been identified and performed. The BA may assist in developing training materials or training business users if these activities have been requested and funded. Detailed analysis of existing processes and data to facilitate process re-engineering Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Information Systems with 5-7 years of IT and/or business experience, or any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training Ability to understand customer and business needs and convert them into a compelling product vision Ability to create detailed, well-written documentation for a variety of audiences. Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills Excellent analytic and problem solving skills Enthusiasm to proactively coordinate and take action within a team environment Ability to work independently as well as under the direction of managers Experience with Agile project environments.
