Job Responsibilities and Requirements: As the Senior Software Development Manager for AWS AppSync, you will be responsible for all aspects of engineering and operations for the service. This includes design, development, testing, and deployment for new features and major service enhancements and for ensuring the service meets and exceeds all operational, availability, and security goals. A successful candidate will have an established background in developing high scale, real-time systems, strong technical ability, excellent project management skills, great communication skills, and motivation to achieve results in a fast-paced environment. You will own all aspects of service delivery and operations and will hire and develop the team as we continue to grow our business. This is a unique opportunity to build and grow a new service, be instrumental in driving the success of the service and a growing team, and work with innovative technologies to solve hard problems for our customers and the broader app development industry. Basic Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field 8 years experience building successful production software systems. Proven ability to take raw product requirements and develop software architectures and designs to bring them to life, with a track record of delivering systems that are scalable, resilient, and inexpensive to own. Strong focus on customers and operational excellence,. Experience building high-performing teams that deliver quality software on time and within budget. Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams working on multiple simultaneous projects Experience defining system architectures and evaluating technical feasibility tradeoffs. 6 years experience leading engineering teams (including a combination of experience hiring, mentoring, managing performance, and providing technical leadership and design guidance). Preferred Qualifications Experience in designing and building sophisticated fault-tolerant distributed systems. Understanding of developing software with systems-level performance constraints. Familiarity with exec level communications and metrics.
