Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Essential Responsibilities Answer Value:In the role of Chief Operating Officer, Solar, you will: Lead the organization s project execution arm (engineering, project management, sourcing) Be responsible for the efficiency of our energy development business and all operations within the business driving a developed project to commercial operation Constantly evaluate and improve our day to day operations, processes, people, and procedures to ensure quality, speed, safety and value creation Be responsible for setting execution strategy and scope for the business across solar carport, rooftop, and ground mount projects and aligning the supporting teams (engineering, sourcing, project management) accordingly As a key member of the senior leadership team, be responsible for participating in setting the long-term growth strategies and creating plans to execute those strategies Be responsible for tracking key business performance metrics, understanding efficiency metrics across cost, quality, time, etc, and for suggesting / implementing tactics to continuously advance performance Develop, maintain and create value for GE Solar through commercial cost strategies with key external engineering, procurement and construction partners Support sales and development functions with EPC strategies in new domestic state markets and international growth market opportunities Collaborate with key support functions to drive accountability and implement strategies. Ensure measurement of operational and performance metrics through efficient use of business systems Be responsible for supporting and maintaining a culture of collaboration, accountability, trust, and customer / project focus across functional areas Bring, build and maintain relationships with key labor partners, subcontractors and equipment suppliers - partnership mentality Ensure operations are executed with high levels of safety, quality while encouraging continuous improvement. Add something on best in class quality projects, QA/QC standards Monitor industry trends and best practices in solar and energy storage in areas of responsibility, including advances in technology and implement best practices that enhance customer value proposition while maximizing efficiency and profitability, Qualifications/Requirements,AnswerValue: Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university Minimum 10 years of solar development and construction experience, Bachelor's Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related energy/development field from an accredited college or university preferably Masters Degree from an accredited college or university preferred Experienced and preferably led the execution of scaling a solar development / EPC business directly improving processes, capabilities, and speed value to customer while also recruiting talent, evaluating existing capabilities, and implementing pivots in tactics as the situation requires Built or been a part of other world class engineering, procurement and construction companies focused on delivering highly engineered solar rooftop, carport and ground mount systems Understand how solar projects get built: the engineering requirements and quality level to ensure we build the lowest cost, highest yielding solar systems; what our construction teams need to do in order to manage our partners efficiently to create long term mutually beneficial partnerships across our execution scope Have deep solar industry relationships across engineering, procurement and construction that you can immediately leverage to help our organization grow Ready to start day 1 as a leader within the organization because you earned the right for that privilege by mastering many of the roles your team will execute on your behalf.
