Job Responsibilities and Requirements: This person will own both the development and management of the strategy across the organization and lead meaningful projects from strategy to implementation. He or she will collaborate with our senior executives in developing and executing key strategic initiatives and also in the annual planning process. This individual will actively engage with the President of the Asset Management division, the Asset Management senior team and other senior leaders throughout the firm on a regular basis. He or she will also work closely with the Head of the Future of Asset Management Project to ensure that that work is closely connected with the Asset Management multi year plan & annual operating plan strategic deliverables. The role will be based in Boston and will report to a Vice President of the group. It will have at least two direct reports. The Asset Management Strategy and Planning group provides a number of services to the Asset Management Executive team. These services include: Partnering with senior team to identify, analyze, and accelerate strategies for both growth and efficiency Understanding and communicating insights on the impact of competitive industry movements on our business Developing insights and strategic perspectives on new opportunities, driving the analyses, presenting the results, and collaborating with teams to develop action plans Leading Asset Management processes for quarterly business reviews, discretionary technology spend and executive scorecards Primary Responsibilities Strategy Development Design and lead the Asset Management organization through the annual strategic planning process including: Participating as the Asset Management lead in cross enterprise opportunities and alignment meetings AM Offsite design and facilitation AM Multi-year planning AM Operating planning Monitor and review Fidelity s innovation pipeline (Product, FCAT, etc.) to ensure strategic alignment and identify gaps Strategy Testing Assist senior management in the discovery, exploration, and resolution of trends and issues including: Industry trends Customer trends and preferences Product trends Regulatory trends Internal roadblocks Strategy Execution Develop, refine, and enhance Asset Management s Business Performance Management processes in order to enable the successful execution of strategic objectives including: Governance models Identification and implementation of appropriate scorecards, measures, and KPIs Quarterly business reviews Lead and direct the Business Investment Process including: Management of the AM discretionary technology portfolio to ensure appropriate mixture and accuracy of spend/results Ensure development of insightful business cases Oversee tracking of KPIs and ROI Approval/escalation process Technology enhancements to capture information/data Education and Experience 8-10 years of post-MBA experience, preferably including some experience at a large, established consulting firm or large asset manager. An MBA degree or equivalent is required. Skills and Knowledge Results oriented with ability to balance superior strategic thinking and practical implementation. Exceptional problem solving skills. Strong executive presence, business judgment, maturity, and empathy, with the ability to thrive in a project-based, collaborative team environment Ability to structure communication and analyses for a senior audience Strong organizational and program management skills, specifically strategy development, new product evaluation and business transformation Thought leader on environment, trends, and competitive pressures, translating these into product and customer needs/opportunities. Clear track record of people management and development and a passion for developing and coaching talent.
