Job Responsibilities and Requirements: ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Participation in the development and execution of strategic operations/facilities plan. Continuously developing alternatives and challenging the plan assumptions. Provide leadership to ensure evolution of the plan. Actively participates with senior management in running the business effectively and profitably. Develop, implement and monitor OH, materials, labor and facility measures that relate directly to the P&L. Monitor cost accounting activities (manufacturing performance, dept budgets, overhead, direct labor, standards, Ensure BOM / Routing accuracy / ERP support.). Set goals and objectives for costing activities and results. Ensure adequate manufacturing planning (employee staffing and deployment, plant capacity analysis, execution of manufacturing plans). Develop and implement manufacturing strategies to meet sales forecast and expand the business in accordance with the long-term business plan. Provide direction and resources (manufacturing, facilities, materials and engineering) to sustain production, support new product development and the transfer to manufacturing, as well as process improvements. Develop and execute corporate manufacturing, facility, materials and engineering goals and strategies. Ensure execution of strategies / goals in support of corporate objectives. Perform corporate communication, mentoring, and employee development. Support product transfer activities from R & D into manufacturing through participation and resource deployment. Provides leadership and direction to ensure global focus in manufacturing, engineering, and facilities activities. Requirements: Education/Experience Bachelor s degree in Engineering or Life Science or equivalent experience required. MBA preferred. Minimum of 15 years progressively responsible experience in pharmaceutical or medical device manufacturing operations with a minimum of 5 years at management level. Experience in project engineering or project management required. Prior experience in a similar-sized company or business unit of a larger company with a strong record of growth and global experience required. Merger and acquisition and plant operations experience preferred. Knowledge/Skills Change agent with the proven ability to develop a performance driven culture Hands-on leader, willing to lead by doing with strong skills of quickly establishing credibility with teams and colleagues and building strong relationships across a wide spectrum of internal and external parties. Ability to flourish in a fast-paced and dynamic environment with a strong results orientation. Ability to collaborate with high performing teams, understanding cross-functional performance drivers and working across levels to achieve corporate goals. Organized and able to handle multiple projects simultaneously with the ability to identify proprietary technology and derive maximum benefit there from. Ability to resolve issues related to staffing, performance, development and discipline. Outstanding written and presentation skills with ability to communicate to diverse audiences. Well-developed interpersonal skills, both within the organization and outside of the corporate environment. High energy, self-starting professional with strong leadership skills and a high degree of ethics and professionalism. Must be technically knowledgeable concerning automation, manufacturing operations, quality, planning and scheduling, materials management, process improvement, process control, subcontracting, ERP, plant operations, material flows, and general production principles. Ability to apply planning tools (MPS, MRP, inventory control, work orders) to effectively lead Operations function. Experience with production and engineering tools: JIT / Lean / Cost Accounting / Manpower and equipment planning; BOM / Routing Control / Engineering Change Orders / Facilities management. Position requires frequent use of negotiation skills. Independent judgment and decision making regarding manufacturing, engineering, and facilities is frequent.
