Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Key Responsibilities Thought Leadership / Internal Consultant - Serves as an internal consultant to all business segments providing guidance and direction on actuarial and risk management issues. Directly supports technical requests from the Chief Actuary and VP-ALM. Research - Proposes innovative solutions based on industry knowledge, outside research and contact with external consultants. Directs others in research activities as well. Reports - Responsible for the valuation of new business, embedded value, embedded value attribution and economic capital reporting as well as interpretation of results while meeting production deadlines. Communication - Routinely communicates with outside rating agencies. Provides technical explanations and consultative analysis internally and externally. Typical Skills and Experiences Education/Certification/Licenses: Bachelors degree in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Finance or similar degree. FSA, Chartered Financial Analyst helpful. Experience/Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to analyze, research and present options to business leaders. Knowledge of actuarial principles, life insurance and tax accounting, finance theory, stochastic modeling, risk management, and the financial services industry. Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence. Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring managers leader and HR Business Partner.
