Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The VP, Operations develops, recommends, and implements appropriate action plans to achieve planned profit targets, maximize employee engagement, ensure high levels of contract customer satisfaction, and improve the safety and security of their assigned facilities. Furthermore, the VP leads the problem solving process for managing facility issues by considering the operational, financial, human, legal, and business development aspects of situations. The successful applicant should be able to perform ALL of the following functions at a pace and level of performance consistent with the actual job performance requirements. Develops, recommends, and implements appropriate action plans to attain profit plan, maximize employee engagement, achieve high levels of customer satisfaction, and improve the safety and security for the assigned facilities. Provides guidance and direction to facility management staff in the operation of safe and secure correctional facilities while maintaining profit and loss responsibility. Utilizes business acumen and innovation to develop strategies and pursue process improvements while balancing the drive toward increasing profits with the need to maintain safe and secure facilities. Develops and maintains personal contact with new and current government partners to maximize business opportunities and ensure satisfaction. Oversees the creation of facility strategies, plans, and performance that meet overall corporate goals and growth objectives. Conducts regular and thorough Quality of Operations Reviews (QOR) to assess team talent levels and development opportunities. Manages the selection process to bring in diverse experience and ability in order to build a team capable of meeting the needs of the business. Differentiates between high and low performance through a fair assessment of work. Rewards and encourages superior performance and moves quickly to address problem areas. Provide technical assistance in areas of expertise to Managing Directors and Wardens as needed. Participates in the Request for Proposal process to provide industry insight on the needs of government partners, capabilities and weaknesses of competitors, and the means of providing the most competitive bid for business. Authorizes and monitors the provision of required contractual services for the facility. Conducts facility reviews of all Business Unit facilities on a regular basis, to ensure high performance levels are sustained. Meets with CoreCivic Executive leadership monthly to provide evaluation and progress of assigned Business Unit facilities. Participates in the annual process to formulate facility budgets. Domestic U.S. travel is required. Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Business, Operations, or other related field is required. Fifteen years of Operations Management experience in a multi-location environment is required.
