Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Specifically, you will underwrite and analyze new and renewal wholesale property business utilizing the Way of Underwriting Framework within delegated authority levels on assignments of higher technical complexity ensuring a high level service to customers. Our Underwriters are Client Externally Focused and the jobs core deliverables rely on delivering service to external clients and/or customers. Typically involves building relationships and promoting the company. Our Underwriters are responsible for: 1. Underwriting, analyzing and generating new and renewal property business Administering and monitoring underwriting rules and guidelines, insurance laws and regulations and rating manual rules 2. Developing and maintaining wholesale broker relationships 3. Working within broad limits and authorities on highly complex assignments Basic Qualifications: 1. High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area OR 2. High School Diploma or Equivalent and 14 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area OR 3. Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 5 or more years of experience in the Underwriting or Market Facing area OR 3. Zurich approved Apprenticeship program including an Associate Degree and 12 or more years of experience in the Claims or Underwriting Support area AND 4. Knowledge of Microsoft Office 5. Knowledge of Property line/s of business and the legal and regulatory guidelines Preferred Qualifications: 1. Bachelors Degree 2. Advance knowledge of Property lines of business 3. Ability to effectively assess risk 4. Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines 5. Strong negotiation skills 6. Strong broker relationships 7. Superior skills in relationship building, active listening, needs analysis, and win-win negotiating 8. Possess knowledge of time restraints for quotes on new and renewal business 9.
