Job Responsibilities and Requirements: We are seeking a junior associate to join the IP Litigation practice in our dynamic Seattle office. The ideal candidate will have 2-3 years of IP Litigation experience and must be admitted to practice in Washington. A strong technical background is required, preferably in computer science or engineering (with electrical engineering a plus). Prior trademark work experience is preferable, as well as admission to practice before the U.S.P.T.O. Candidates must be self-starters who possess the ability to work independently and as part of a team. We require strong academic credentials, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to providing the highest quality client service. Candidates will work closely with experienced patent attorneys who will provide active mentoring and opportunities to assume increasing levels of responsibility and client contact. K&L Gates has over 100 IP litigators worldwide who devote their work to understanding the complex facets of intellectual property law and marshalling every resource necessary on behalf of their clients. Our clients include those protecting emerging communications technologies, novel drug therapies, iconic brands, trade secrets, copyrights, and other proprietary information. We handle every scale of litigation, from large, complex, multi-jurisdiction matters and bet-your-company confrontations between industry leaders, to litigation involving non-practicing entities, to modest license dispute and piracy matters.
