Job Responsibilities and Requirements: This attorney will be primarily responsible for patent legal matters, including assessing inventions to develop intellectual property strategy, intellectual property enforcement and litigation, and third-party intellectual property clearance. The attorney will support all lines of business and corporate staff areas. The candidate will primarily: Process invention disclosures, including determining an appropriate intellectual property strategy and working with outside counsel to draft and prosecute patent applications that thoroughly and accurately protect JPMorgan Chase inventions.Interface with lines of business to cultivate, capture, and obtain patent or trade secret protections for novel inventions.Perform legal research and prepare legal guidance documents and training materials for internal clients.Provide technology and intellectual property law advice and counsel to the internal clients and partners Qualifications 1-3 years of legal experience practicing law post JD in a law firm or corporate law department Must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in the state/jurisdiction in which the position is based or otherwise in compliance with the in-house counsel registration rules of that state/jurisdiction Strong interest in and desire to develop intellectual property law skills Some experience in intellectual property and financial services is a plus Ability to demonstrate sound judgment and common sense Ability to work independently while being able to contribute successfully to cross-functional teams Excellent organizational skills, ability to manage multiple projects at once, and consistent follow through Strong written and oral communication skills Robust analytical and computer skills Common sense, sound judgment, and a good sense of humor Proven track record of meeting deadlines, learning quickly, taking the initiative, working proactively, being resourceful and shouldering additional responsibility.
