Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The manager will have responsibility for the risk-focused supervision of a portfolio of these organizations and for the development of a team of primarily examiners. The manager must be able to develop high performing and fully effective financial institution supervisors by working closely with examination staff. The manager will need to manage projects and review work products and be able effectively motivate and coach team members. In addition, the manager will need to demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact across the organization, deliver value to the institutions under supervision, and to support FISC more broadly. Major Duties and Job Responsibilities Maintain strong knowledge of banking and regulatory environments, particularly as related to consumer protection laws and regulations. Ensure the effective risk-focused oversight of companies under supervision. Supervise and direct the activities of staff to meet the business needs of the organization and to fulfill individual career-development objectives. Demonstrate the ability to think strategically and align Unit goals and objectives with the broader Division and Bank strategic direction and goals. Lead, inspire and motivate direct reports to accomplish the goal of becoming a commissioned examiner and/or to fulfill individual career-development goals. Direct team members in the successful execution of their work and manage associated risk. Set priorities, ensuring accountability, reviewing work products, facilitating talent management & succession planning, assessing development needs, and delivering coaching to ensure continuous development of skills, competencies, and talent pipeline. Oversee the skill development and ongoing education of staff to ensure continuous enhancement of their confidence, competence, and capability in appropriately supervising district institutions. Ensure that all deliverables are completed timely, consistently and within our high quality standards. Demonstrate effective project management planning, execution, and completion. Position Requirements and Qualifications An applicant for employment must be a U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, or hold a permanent resident/green card with intent to become a U.S. Citizen. A valid driver's license is required. A bachelor s degree is required; a major in business, economics, finance, accounting, or a related field is preferred. A master s degree is preferred. An active commission issued by the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System is required. Travel required to provide oversight of field examination staff. A minimum of six years of direct or comparable banking-, financial-industry- or banking-supervision experience required. A minimum of five years of experience in the supervision of staff. This may be satisfied through management positions or examiner-in-charge positions. However, the following should be demonstrated at a high level: Assessing and developing others Promoting team accomplishments Ensuring quality (introducing standards/expectations and monitoring adherence) Understanding and respecting other people's feelings and concerns Exhibit strong to advanced written and oral communication skills, comprehensive to advanced analytical and problem solving skills, independent and critical thinking, and decision making abilities.
