Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Formula for Success: You Will - Be responsible for planning and scheduling of large capital projects throughout North America. - Set resource requirements for the Planning and Scheduling department. - Establish goals for the department and individual team members. - Actively participate in the overall planning process, development of detailed schedules for FEL, Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning phases. - Identify, analyze, and offer mitigation strategies for project delays, and support transparent reporting to management. - Ensure BASF Planning and Scheduling procedures and guidelines are consistently and correctly applied on projects. - Perform schedule assessments for the Project Execution Comments at key stages in the phase gate process which is provided to Commission S and/or the BoD. - Initiate, lead, and support continuous regional improvement projects (e.g., methods, tools, processes) to continually improve Planning and Scheduling. Ensure BASF standards and work processes reflect industry best practices. - Work with and/or lead global teams to fulfil the goals of the relevant Global Engineering and Maintenance Work Groups and Global Collaboration Teams (Planning and Scheduling and Project Support Services). QUALIFICATIONS - RECOGNIZES INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION WHICH ARE ACCREDITED BY THE COUNCIL FOR HIGHER EDUCATION ACCREDITATION OR EQUIVALENT Ingredients for Success: What We Look for in You - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related technical discipline and at least 12 years of professional experience, of which a minimum of 7 years of experience in planning and scheduling; OR Master's degree with at least 10 years of professional experience and 5 years of experience in planning and scheduling; OR High School Diploma and at least 16 years of project/Construction experience, of which a minimum of 11 years of planning and scheduling experience. - Proven ability in supervising and leadership. Experience directly managing others preferred. - Experience with the execution of large capital projects (>$20 million) required - Industry experience preferred includes chemical/petrochemical, oil & gas, or related heavy industrial fields. Turnaround planning and scheduling experience a plus. - In-depth technical knowledge about overall project planning, workflow, schedule risk analysis, risk management, and detailed scheduling work processes for all phases of a project including FEL, detailed engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. - Demonstrated strong collaboration, facilitation, and teamwork skills - Excellent Primavera and MS Project use and knowledge. - Schedule Risk Analysis Software experience (i.e. Acumen Fuse). - Excellent computer skills, primarily in Excel. - Strong communication and presentation skills - Ability to travel up to 40%.
