Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Position Description: The Mobile and Remote Access Unit currently has an opening for a Senior Mobile Device Engineer to support a Department of State (DoS) Bureau of Information Resource Management (IRM) program. This is a senior engineer position within the Vanguard 2.2.1 Service Management Office (SMO), providing general engineering and management support for the Enterprise Mobile Device (EMD) program. The well-qualified candidate will possess and apply comprehensive knowledge related to Firewall appliances and Windows 10 Operating System. The candidate must be capable of planning and leading the testing, implementation, and operation of these devices. The candidate must be capable of evaluating performance results, performing risk assessments, and recommending changes affecting the functionality of the EMD program. The position directly supports DoS customers who access the network through mobile devices. Description of Duties: - Builds, designs, tests and deploys Enterprise Mobile Devices to users across the enterprise. - Compiles records and reports concerning the perimeter device to ensure optimal performance and uptime. - Troubleshoot issues related to the Palo Alto Global Protect Client. - Directs team members related to the patching, management, and delivery of EMD devices to customers. - Meets customer requirements related to delivery dates of devices approved by management. - Manages the transition to operations after users acquire an EMD device. - Collaborates with Bureaus requesting EMD devices and directs staff to support the demand of requested hardware. - Supports the configuration testing of replacement hardware and helps facilitate internal ITCCB approval. - Creates and maintains standard operating procedures and guides related to the EMD service. - Attends weekly teleconferences, onsite meetings, and participates in working groups, in support of MRA sponsored projects. QUALIFICATIONS: TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and fourteen (14) years or more experience; Masters and twelve (12) years or more experience; PhD or JD and nine (9) years or more experience Required Education/Experience: - Bachelor degree in a computer science/computer engineering related discipline. Additional experience in lieu of degree will be considered. Required Experience/Skills/Attributes: - 10-15 years IT network engineering support experience (Tier II, Tier III, network infrastructure implementation and maintenance). - Experience supporting the configuration and maintenance of Palo Alto Firewall's. Specifically, the GlobalProtect platform. - Knowledge of the Windows 10 Operation System and troubleshooting experience related to break/fix events that could occur. - Experience with performing root cause analysis, risk identification and risk mitigation. Desired Experience/Skills/Attributes: - ITIL Foundation certification - Certifications: Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE) - Knowledge of SCCM and the PAT tool used to deploy MS patches. - Familiarity with DoS environment (data and voice networks, IT security systems, policies and procedures), Foreign Affairs Handbooks (FAHs), Foreign Affairs Manuals (FAMs). - Interpersonal skills including the ability to collaborate effectively, self-awareness, and excellent written and oral communications. Clearance Requirement: Active Secret with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. Must be able to work core hours: Monday - Friday 8-5pm.
