Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Essential Job Functions: The incumbent must be able to perform all of the following duties and responsibilities with or without a reasonable accommodation. Execute and surpass online assortment goals for each category(ies) and deliver incremental funding from vendors to Conduct research on products, merchandise, customer trends and market factors, utilizing internal knowledge/process, external market research, external search queries and online analytic tools. Incumbent will also be responsible for researching the competition and tracking assortment gaps. Quantify, monitor and report on various stages of item set-ups, working with internal teams to remove bottlenecks and also working with vendors to improve quality of submission. Incumbent will work closely with dropship manager and overall e-Commerce team to ensure that guidelines are adhered. Monitor vendor performance from a speed-to-customer perspective, communicating performance to each vendor and ensuring that SLAs are met or surpassed across all internal- and customer-facing processes. Ensure assigned online category(s) goals and objectives are strategically and tactically aligned to differentiate Petco online from the competition, as well as deliver on Petco s customer value proposition of exceeding customer expectations and financial budgets. Demonstrating a passion and leadership competency for data-driven decision making for vendor selection, negotiations to deliver against online business objectives. Accountable for ownership and delivery of weekly reports detailing efforts around prospecting new vendors, status of item setups and overall performance (financial and logistical) of vendors/ SKUs. Work with e-Commerce team to create and execute promotional activities with key online-only vendors in order to drive increased traffic, sales and expand profit margins consistent with total e-Commerce goals. Ensure all activities comply and are conducted in accordance with international, federal, state and local laws, regulations and ordinances; remain cognizant of planned/proposed changes to same. Interact professionally and effectively through verbal and written communication with all professional contacts with emphasis on company interests. Perform other related duties, tasks and responsibilities as required, assigned and directed. Supervisory Responsibility: Other management tasks include, but are not limited to, providing input and direction on such topics as key goals and objectives; strategic and tactical planning, implementation and execution; budgetary issues; capital expenditures and associate management, training and development. Additionally, this position will lead a cross-functional team over which it does not have direct administrative authority. This position is expected to independently lead these teams through the successful development and execution of strategic plans and tactical imperatives to support the business plan for the assigned category(s). Work Environment: Operates in a standard office environment. The majority of job duties are performed while seated indoors with little or no exposure to hazards. Day and overnight domestic travel to vendors, seminars and/or conferences is required periodically throughout the year. Extended domestic and overseas travel may occur periodically throughout the year. Education and Experience: Requires a minimum of two to four years of professional-level experience in a fast-paced businesses/ functional areas. Appropriate areas include brand management, marketing, supply chain, or relevant verticals such as Retail, CPG, or Management Consulting. The candidate should have some the following preferred qualifications: Proven track record of taking ownership and delivering results Strong multi-tasking ability and experience with meeting multiple deadlines Demonstrated ability to thrive and succeed in an entrepreneurial environment and not be hindered by ambiguity or competing priorities Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written), with vendor, client, or customer-facing experience Passionate & skilled about understanding the insights behind consumer behavior Highly organized, flexible, easily adapts to changes Specific functional experience should include buying, account management, product management, project management, financial analysis and/or marketing. The successful candidate should also be versed in negotiations and highly proficient at excel. Must have advanced computer skills, including MS Office Suite and the aptitude to learn and utilize new internal applications.
