Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Job Summary: Contributes to the success of by providing oversight, management, and accountability for a significant portion of the Design plus Construction Capital Plan [in conjunction with the other Program Leaders]. The work includes new stores, expansions, remodels, shopping centers, fuel stations, carwashes, corporate facilities and any other type of capital projects. Essential Functions / Process Responsibilities include the following; other duties may be assigned as necessary: - Provides oversight and coordination of all types of construction projects through all phases of project development, end-to -end accountability. - Direct reports include 3-4 Construction Project Leaders and as many as 15 indirect reports [Construction Project Managers, Estimators, MEPR Project Managers, etc.] - Coordinates the efforts of various teams that contribute to the development and execution of capital projects [Real Estate, Design, Engineering, Construction, Facility Management, Store Operations, Merchants, Shelf Edge, Consultants, Contractors, Municipal Jurisdictions, etc.] - Develops and implements processes / strategies that ensure all projects executed achieve cost, quality and schedule goals. - Responsible for the development of comprehensive project budgets and schedules and ensures accurate performance of such. - Develops and maintains working relationships with contractors and related industry experts to ensure a strong resource base to accomplish necessary construction activities and to promote innovation. - Responsible for the execution of all company mandated processes, policies, procedures, etc. - Fosters, promotes and serves as a role model for extraordinary Customer Service performance. Preferred Education and Experience - Bachelor s Degree in Business, Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering or related field or comparable experience. - 15 years experience in Construction Management - Proficient computer skills - Project Management Professional (PMP) certification - Advanced working knowledge and expertise of building design and construction - Strong knowledge of the retail business in general Preferred Key Competencies - Strong organizational, analytical and decision making skills - Ability to manage complex issues with senior level management Partners - Strong leadership skills with a service and team orientation - Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and collaborative skills - Propriety in handling confidential and sensitive information - Ability to properly handle confidential and sensitive material - Ability to think and act strategically / out of the box - Demonstrate initiative and willingness to take risks - Provides mentorship for other Team members - Results driven Physical and Other Requirements - Function in a fast-paced environment - Travel by car or airplane with overnight stays as required - Physical mobility is required to negotiate all areas of a project site during all phases of construction - Sit/stand for an extended period of time - Hand / Finger dexterity - Lift up to 20 lbs in a regular basis - Work extended hours as required - Use arms / hands in repetitive motion during the day.
