Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The Solutions Engineer for Network and Telecomm position supports all aspects of network, voice and unified communication technologies at This position applies IT Architecture Standards and Guidelines related to Networks and provides design solutions for implementation to support CNA business needs. The Network and Telecom Solution Engineer is also heavily involved in the day-to-day operations, administration, project implementations and ordering, configuring, and provisioning of complex network designs. He / she also has a large responsibility for follow-up of Telecomm / Network orders and the financial management of all communication services. Auditing and working with Telecomm carriers, Telecom Expense Management services and CNA business stakeholders is essential to this position. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Performs a combination of duties in accordance with departmental guidelines: Leads the research and implementation of the latest Telecomm technologies / trends at CNA and works with network telecomm carriers to order, provision, disconnect and make changes on Data, voice and video circuits. Provides high-level / detailed solutions and technical support for network connectivity for data centers, Head office, Field offices and interoperability of cloud related connectivity solutions Audits telecom carrier invoices and make recommendations working with TEM (Telecom Expense Management) providers to reduce costs and improve efficiency of our networks. Manages circuit inventory and keep it current working with TEM Service providers and communication carriers for voice, video and data circuits. Works with contracted IT Managed Service Providers supporting our Contact Center Business units to enable call routing, script modifications, emergency closure changes based on business needs. Develops and maintains network documentation when needed and work with MSPs on ensuring our CMDB is current. Configure and manage OSPF, BGP, QOS, NAC, DHCP, access-lists, and VLANs with MSP. Assists operations team working with providers during major issues and day to day escalations. Works with TEM provider on Telecomm management issues and has weekly review on current spending and billing. Provides overall project management leadership for new locations and other projects related to Network Services. Works with CNA Finance to help ensure all network and telecom finances and billings are allocated properly. May perform additional duties as assigned. Reporting Relationship Typically reports to Director or above. Skills, Knowledge & Abilities 1. Proven experience designing, architecting, implementing, and configuring complex Cisco IPT solutions with Cisco Unified Call Manager clusters, Cisco Unity Voice Mail, Cisco ICM and CVP. 2. Solid ability to design, architect, and administer routers, load balancers, switches, Wi-Fi controllers for supporting LAN / WAN / WIFI and VoIP infrastructures. 3. Solid ability to collaborate with providers to solve simple to complex technical issues and those related to network billing and ordering. 4. Excellent project management skills and ability to organize and plan effectively to meet project goals. 5. Willingness and ability to lead and provide mentorship to other Infrastructure engineers. 6. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with peers, vendor partners, IT management and assigned subordinates. 7. Solid knowledge configuring and troubleshooting Voice Gateways / Gatekeepers, VoIP, contact center scripting and SIP messaging. 8. Solid experience building strong relationships both inside and outside Collaborates with teams to drive towards win-win scenarios. 9. Acts with a sense of urgency and accountability while achieving quality results. 10. Ability to look for innovative ways to solve Network issues or Contact Center scripting / application issues. 11. Strong knowledge and experience with IT Service Management concepts including all disciplines within an ITIL framework. 12. Advanced computer skills including Microsoft Office suite and other business related software systems. Education & Experience1. Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related work experience. 2. Minimum of seven years in Information Technology experience in operations, networks, telecom, and procurement preferably in the insurance industry. 3. Experience in a business-facing IT role or similar experience providing customer service for an IT service. 4. Experience working with IT vendors and / or Managed Service Providers. 5. Network certifications preferred.
