Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Assist Patent Lawyers and Paralegal within the Patent department with diversified duties Draft/prepare correspondence to foreign associates and clients Elite time entry and billingFormat patent applications, drawings, official responses and amendments Maintain calendar, docket and patent files Maintain good public relations with clients; observe confidentiality of attorney-client relationship Maintain physical and electronic files Maintain up-to-date, orderly filing in legal and patent files and ensure that filing is accurate Make travel arrangements; Open new matters and create files and patent prosecution folders Patent file maintenance including counting and tracking patent claims Prepare and proofread correspondence Prepare client letters, reporting status of applications and patentsPrint patent docket report for attorneys, monitor due dates, and provide meaningful and timely reminders Process expense reports/reimbursements Download patents or prosecution documents from U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, EP Patent Office, and WIPO Patent Office websites; Proofread patent applications and amendments; Receive clients and visitors by greeting guests in person, or on the telephone; answer or direct inquiriesReview and maintain calendars; Screen telephone calls and record messages in written and electronic formTyping and editing correspondence, memorandum, and other such documents specific to the timekeepers area of practice Work closely with patent attorneys, registered patent agents, and/or patent paralegals who will provide active mentoring and supervision Assist with departmental projects, as needed; Other duties as assigned Qualified candidates will have: Prior experience as a legal secretary Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Elite billing Proven patent prosecution experience Superior attention to detail, patent litigation experience is a plus Strong administrative, word processing, proofreading and typing skills Able to thrive in a deadline-driven environment and ability to be a reliable team player.
