Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Job Summary Leads staff in planning, directing, and implementing marketing research projects for assigned product lines and/or access channels. Serves as a primary interface to subject matter experts in client organizations and other internal/external stakeholders, and assumes responsibility for maintaining productive and proactive relationships. Works with CRSO management and client teams to define project scopes, methodologies, timelines, and related needs. Manages internal and external vendor relationships, and owns the process of procuring services on behalf of the marketing research team in alignment with budget parameters. Leads projects designed to enhance the internal and external efficiency and effectiveness of marketing research efforts, including online and electronic communications. Leads teams, work consultatively and proactively with clients, manage resources to meet multiple project priorities, and ensure the career and professional development of team members. Provides direction for content to be housed on public and internal websites. Establishes metrics for projects and reports results to product relationship manager and/or VP of Marketing. The level of work required is considered advanced and staff must be able to work under minimal to no supervision. This position does have direct reports. Principal Duties and Responsibilities Develops performance goals for employees. Throughout the year conducts performance/development discussions with employees. At a minimum conducts a mid-year review. In December/January completes the annual personnel assessment process for each employee supervised. Takes action to develop, correct or discipline staff as appropriate Acts an effective leader and contributes to teamwork within the area of responsibility and across the CRSO. This includes; setting a personal example of leadership and teamwork and acting in a manner that demonstrates the Bank's vision, values, and desired culture, demonstrating respect for everyone; fostering an environment which provides an opportunity for everyone to grow and excel; building and sustaining productive relationships; addressing conflict respectively and constructively; and working in partnership within and across workgroups; and providing both peer and staff level coaching and mentoring Fulfills administrative responsibilities as follows: capital and expense budgets, audit interface, staff incentive development/monitoring, staff recognition/awards, staff education coordination Participate in Bank wide and System wide initiatives as a representative of the CRSO and Seventh District Establishes measurements to evaluate team skills as well as ways to assist team in building skill sets required to support business needs. Evaluates performance results. Completes performance appraisals and counsel staff on job performance. Engages, teaches and initiates development plans. Recommends promotions, merit increases, and coordinates staff training to achieve development plan objectives and to meet business unit goals. Makes effective hiring, disciplinary action and termination decisions Oversees marketing research and identifies activities to be conducted in support of the national marketing plan, and plays an instrumental role in its development, including development of economical marketing research plan Plans and directs staff in the development of marketing research strategy and execution Manages relationships with internal clients and external vendors Delivers a customer-friendly, integrated approach to customer research Manages local and/or remote staff and coaches staff into high performance team behaviors Supports CRSO senior management as needed Performs other duties as assigned Education and Experience Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience as noted below, MBA preferred 7-10 plus years of direct work related experience either in primary market research or databases to support customer segmentation related work Management experience with internal staff and external vendors Coursework in Marketing, Business, Mathematics, Engineering Knowledge and Skills Strong understanding of the payments business, customers and the Federal Reserve Bank's product suites Independent thinking and decision-making abilities Strong project management, communication, and consultative skills and experience.
