Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The company is a multifaceted studio handling the development, financing, production and marketing of theatrical motion pictures. The Senior Vice President of Legal Affairs position will be responsible for advising executives and representing the studio on all legal aspects of operations, with an emphasis on development, production, marketing, promotions, publicity, product placement, distribution and acquisitions. The candidate must have broad experience in multiple aspects of motion picture studio operations. Experience in trademark, copyright and other legal clearance issues is a must, as is knowledge of Guild and MPAA rules. Candidates should have strong drafting and negotiating skills, and be able to work independently under time sensitive constraints. The successful candidate shall also have proven experience in making complex legal and business risk decisions while also balancing relationships with production and marketing executives of all levels. This position reports directly to the General Counsel, and will take on other various tasks and assignments as needed. This position is a unique opportunity to touch on many aspects of studio operations in a collegial, supportive work environment, offering a level of involvement not typically found in legal affairs jobs. This position requires a Juris Doctor degree from a top law school. Law firm and/or motion picture studio experience required.
