Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The essential duties and responsibilities of the position include, but not limited to: Develop and create project control budgets through collaboration with estimators. Collect data to determine costs of business activity, such as raw material purchases, inventory, equipment usage, and labor. Utilize completed daily field reports to accurately populate daily cost sheet, quantity tracking sheet, cumulative cost database, and daily project projection sheets. Collaborate with Project Managers and field personnel to ensure that all costs are accounted for. Track project budget to actual comparisons. Assist Project Engineer with client invoices for progress payments, final payments, and release of retainage. Create estimates for new and proposed projects or services costs. Prepare reports and budgets specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of projects or services. Recommends cost efficiencies in new project layouts. Other duties as assigned. Qualified candidates must have a Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Accounting or Finance or related degree. Candidates must also have one to three years of experience in a cost engineering, accounting and/or finance related role working for a civil and/or excavation contractor. In addition, applicants must have prior work experience in a project management, estimating and/or other construction management related position. Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel and Project is a must. The candidate must also possess strong attention to detail and the ability to multi-task and prioritize. Candidates must also maintain confidentiality and possess a high degree of professionalism within a dynamic environment.
