Job Responsibilities and Requirements: The Director, Financial Solutions will manage research and consulting projects with internal Fidelity business partners. Developing an understanding of the business problem, conducting and/or leading the necessary research, and aiding in the appropriate implementation of that research. The associate will work with business partners from across the firm as well as technology, marketing, legal, and compliance teams. In this role, the Director, Financial Solutions will: Research, develop, backtest, and deploy quantitative models for financial planning Evaluate 3rd-party financial products Develop new financial products Conduct investment and financial research Participate in the creation of research papers Education and Experience The successful candidate will have earned an advanced degree in finance, economics, engineering, applied mathematics, science, econometrics, or computer science. Experience buiding quantitative models in a programming language such as Excel and VBA, R, SQL, Matlab or similar. Must have strong communication skills both to communicate complex topics to experts within the team but also to simplify concepts for presentations outside the group. A CFA and / or a CFP are a plus. Graduate degree (Master of Finance, MBA, etc.) a plus. Knowledge of financial planning concepts and tax rules is a plus. 3 - 5 years relevant financial services experience, post-graduate degree is preferred Skills and Knowledge The ideal candidate will have strong quantitative skills and demonstrated experience doing quantitative work. Critical skills in this role include excellent written and oral communication skills, the ability to think critically in a demanding environment, and the ability to provide thought leadership.
