Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Technology Accelerator for Commercialization is currently accepting applications for a new case manager either as an entry level Licensing Associate or Senior Licensing Associate. The preferred candidate will have a knowledge of the physical sciences, intellectual property and technology licensing. The case manager will report to the Director and will manage aspects of an academic technology transfer patent portfolio, including: Working with faculty, staff and students to identify the commercial value of intellectual property arising from their activities Working with outside counsel to protect the commercial value of intellectual property Reviewing, drafting and negotiating agreements pertaining to research, licensing, and other aspects of university/industry collaborations Making recommendations on licensing candidates for University technologies Developing and maintaining professional relationships between UC and industry as well as other academic institutions. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor degree with five (5) years of experience; -OR- Associate degree with seven (7) years of experience; -OR- nine (9) years of related experience. Degree must be in life sciences, science, engineering or a related field. Experience must be in contract compliance, licensing in an intellectual property setting, or a related field. Ideal Qualifications: Degree in a physical science or engineering field Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on interpersonal, negotiation skills and public speaking experience. Demonstrated ability to gauge basic business considerations and potential of technologies in a wide variety of scientific fields. Ability to interact effectively with constituents in academic and industry Work history of effective, timely project management.
