Job Responsibilities and Requirements: PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Chief Estimator I has overall responsibility for administration and execution of all estimating activities for Business Unit. TYPICAL RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES: Chief Estimator I typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to the following: Establish Customer Satisfaction goals for Estimating Leads in developing accurate pricing for design-phase or GMP estimates Maintains appropriate industry contacts to insure best and final information on market pricing and trends Identify and resolve problems under conditions of incomplete information and uncertainty Schedules department estimating and deliverables and balances workload accordingly Manages the department to assure multiple duties and responsibilities are executed by all staff members Communicates with operations staff in planning work schedules Identify and communicate risks and outcomes affecting the Business Unit Assumes overall lead for business unit strategic planning process Trains and develops staff Manages BD process Responsible for keeping BUL informed of activities, progress and problems as it pertains to Estimating activities. EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION Bachelor in Engineering 15-20 years relevant experience Or equivalent combination of education and experience Excellent total compensation package which includes competitive health and welfare benefits, generous profit-sharing/401k plan, as well as technical and management training programs.
