Job Responsibilities and Requirements: Key Accountabilities Strategic Business Direction Accountable, in conjunction with the National Head of Investments, for assisting in the development and execution of the investment business strategy and delivery of profitable growth. Plan and implement strategies that support the strategic direction of US Wealth Management. Responsible for the production, coordination and dissemination of a broad range of data and analysis that spans the spectrum from forecasts and cost/benefit analysis supporting initiatives, to developing reports and conducting specialized analysis for a variety of internal and industry stakeholders. Research Responsible for the fixed income trading and fundamental equity research efforts within BMO Wealth Management Develop fixed income solutions to effectively manage U.S. investment grade portfolios including the creation of investment parameters, field communication and marketing strategy, as well as the oversight of client composite performance data. Manage fundatmental equity research team, report creation and distribution in conjuntion with portfolio manager preferences, regulatory requirements and business needs. Develop appropriate Policies & Procedures in partnership with the Wealth Governance Team. Investment Strategies & Solutions Oversee centralized portfolio management team including business strategy development, operational effectiveness and performance management. Responsible for the investment consulting group and associated deliverables including advanced investment simulations, portfolio analytics, 401k reviews, investment related sales support materials and custom requests. Communication, Education and Training Accountable for promoting BMO Wealth Management s investment strategy, philosophy and outlook to internal and external stakeholders, across multiple mediums, as a recognized subject matter expert. Responsible for the development, maintenance and distribution of prospect and client presentations, as well as internal board and committee presentations as requested. Promote and raise the profile of BMO Wealth Management s investment management capabilities (team and platform) through various forums. Work with Marketing to provide input for calls, roadshows and internal product and platform presentations. Execute a training program to ensure Regional Directors of Investments, Portfolio Managers, Private Wealth Advisers and other BMO Wealth Management professionals speak with one voice regarding the firm s investment strategy and product platform. Facilitate information-sharing and learning opportunities with internal stakeholders to foster discussions on market trends, perspectives and positioning. Support business development through presentations, research and analysis. Cross Functional Relationships Internal BMOPB: LOB leaders, Market Leaders, Marketing, Human Resources, Operations, Compliance, and Risk Management. Wealth Management: leadership and work teams: collaborate to grow the Investment Management Business and support the growth of the client experience and other LOBs. BMO Asset Management assess performance and ensure that investment services meet the needs of BMOPB clients. Wealth Management Product Ops. External Regulators across the country: represent the firm on regulatory matters and address any issues as needed. Vendors and contractors as required: represent the firm and ensure that all business requirements are met with vendors and contractors. Clients of BMOPB: represent the firm with key clients in support of Relationship Manager business development and client development efforts. External Asset Managers: assess performance and ensure that investment services meet the needs of BMOPB clients; address any deficiencies. Knowledge and Skills College degree required. MBA and/or CFA preferred. Extensive understanding and knowledge of U.S. fiduciary law and applicability to trust investment accounts. Minimum of 10 years in the investment management and financial services industry. Extensive knowledge of the investment management, financial planning and sales process relating to high net worth and ultra high net worth market segments. Extensive knowledge and technical proficiency related to investment strategies, issues and trends. Broad perspective of economics and financial markets. Exceptional project management, coaching and communication skills. Ability to operate effectively in a highly complex environment. Proven track record of developing successful investment strategies and products.
